Newsletter August 2011

Greetings,

It has been a few months since our last newsletter because of several challenges I faced this summer – including launching our new website and the unexpected death of my 81 year old Mom. Please accept my apologies and know that we are back on track to provide you with a monthly newsletter filled with helpful hints and useful tips.

I am dedicating this newsletter to my Mom who was my best friend and biggest fan. I miss her dearly.  As the Executor of her estate I am extremely thankful to Mom because she kept her PortaVault up to date. It has made my life so much easier in taking care of her affairs.  In this newsletter I have included some tips and ideas I have learned from exploring my Mom’s PortaVault.

Please check out our new website www.portavault.com   which positions the PortaVault not only as an emergency planning tool but as a life planning tool for all ages. Thank you for sharing our website with your friends and family.

Sincerely,

Sherie
Founder and CEO

TIPS FROM MOM’S PORTAVAULT
  • Mom included her most recent Life insurance premium notice along with a copy of the check used for payment in the PortaVault This helped me be certain that a policy was still in effect since I knew the premiums had been paid.
  • Mom included the birth and death certificates of my grandparents in the PortaVault.  These documents were extremely helpful in completing the information for Mom’s death certificate.
  • Great place to keep the family history.  Mom’s PortaVault included notes about our family genelogy which were hand written by both my Mom and Dad. Not only is the information great to have but it is extra special when I see their hand writing – it warms my heart.
  • Include special memories.  In the record protector containing Mom’s certificates was a letter indicating she was runner up in a beautiful baby contest when she was two years old and that she won $5 which as a lot of money in 1931.  She also had a locket of her baby hair.  These were fun surprises to find!
