I do workshops down here in the Gulf Coast to teach organizing and use your PortaVault as my example of how to quickly and easily compile a “grab and go” for essential papers. While I don’t use all the “bells and whistles” I do like it because of the zippered binder for gathering items in one safe place. In mine I have a full copy of my health records (in plastic sheets) as well as all my other important documents, a CD of family photos and a copy of all the cards in my wallet.

Recently I had put my drivers license and 2 credit cards in the back pocket of a pair of pants I was wearing during a busy day (was going for a walk with my walking club and didn’t want to carry anything like a purse). After a long and busy day, when I went to bed that evening I noticed the pants were fraying at the cuff and decided to throw them out. It wasn’t until AFTER the trash pickup 3 days later that I noticed I didn’t have these important documents and realized they were still in the pants pocket. Although of course I kicked myself for not emptying the pockets before throwing out the pants, I knew that it would be an easy matter to replace these because I had all my other documentation (passport, birth certificate, etc.) plus the numbers and where to call close at hand and easy to find in my PortaVault!
